MiCa Beauti Makeup Artistry is here!!!

Hey guys!!!

So guess what ladies and  gents?!?

MiCa Beauti Makeup Artistry is here!!!

Yep, MiCa Beauti is the name of my freelance makeup artistry business. I first have to give props to Johndolyn Webb. She is the one who actually came up with the name for me because I was clueless as to what I would name my business. LOL!!  I have decided to go ahead and market myself as an artist. I have been doing makeup for the last 3 or 4 years but it wasn't until last year that I decided to make plans to pursue it as a business. I began practicing more. When my friends and I go out, I am the MUA on duty. It gave me a chance to practice application and everything. And I must say, I have come along way over the years as you have seen in my pictures (with more to come). Last fall, I had the opportunity to do the makeup for a friend's wedding and I must say the girls looked gorgeous. More recently I had the opportunity to work with my good friend and model LaToya Maddox for a shoot that she had. Her pictures were amazing and I was so glad I had the chance to work with her.

Working with her made me decide to go ahead and go full force with my makeup artistry. My website will be up soon and I will have business cards for all of my clients. I am available for any and every occasion including but not limited to Proms, Weddings, Balls, photo shoots, editorial,  and just everyday wear. I am also available to provide makeup application lessons. Oh, and I do travel. I actually have a wedding in Detroit in July so be on the lookout for those pictures later!

I am excited about this new adventure in my life and blessed to have to opportunity to share my talents with others. I am looking forward to not helping a person put on a mask but enhancing the natural beauty that is already there!! A Quick Hello And Playing With Color!

Hi guys!!

I know it's been a few days since I last posted anything. I have some posts coming up soon from the last few days that includes hair and makeup. I have also been asked to include skincare information in my blog. Now that is an area that I know we all can benefit from.Info on skin types, moisturizers, cleansers, when to see a dermatologist, etc.  So you will begin to see skincare posts in the near future. Thanks to everyone who has subscribed to my blog! I really appreciate it. This is new for me and I am learning new things everyday.

Now, let's talk about color. I was browsing through videos on Youtube and came across one that eyexluvxmakeup did using bright colors. She used SugarPill eyeshadows, which I have got to get my hands on, and looked so cute. I figured hey, this looks easy enough. So I pulled out my BH Cosmetics 120 palette and 88 matte palette and went to work. Here are some pics!

Protective Style: Stuffed Twists

Hey guys!

So I was browsing Youtube and ran across PrettyDimples (check her out). She did a tutorial on stuffed twists. It looked super easy and is a great protective style. Since I am in the process of doing a second trial on a twist out because the first one failed (blog coming soon), I decided I would practice the style on my sister Ryan. She really all about low maintenance when it comes to her hair, which is also natural. Her hair had already been washed and straightened. The only product I used was my Eco Styler gel. No moisturizers were added as she had moisturized using the coconut oil after she washed her hair.  So check out the pics and tell me what you think. I will definitely be trying this style on myself. It turned out super cute!!

My Go To Products: Moisturizers

Hi Bellas!

So I coming to you with a new post today focused on hair. I just wanted to let you guys know what products are my favorites when it comes to getting the moisture that my hair needs.

For people who are new to this whole natural hair thing, it can be a bit overwhelming. It's like you're saying "Ok, I'm natural, now what do I do". Well, I have been there and for the last 3 years I have been trying figure it out. I decided this year, I was going to get know my hair, not that I didn't already know it, but I wasn't being adventurous and really learning about the products that I was using and knowing what works best for my hair. So here we go. This will be the first of many posts about some of my go to products.
